Dr. Ted Gaw, D.D.S


Dr. Ted Gaw has been practicing dentistry in Gainesboro,TN since August 1978. He has dedicated his professional career to providing high quality, affordable dentistry to the Upper Cumberland area. Dr. Gaw strives to give his patients a beautiful smile that will last a lifetime.

Dr. Gaw grew up in Gainesboro and graduated from Jackson County High School in 1969. He received his BS from David Lipscomb College in 1973 and went on to receive his DDS degree from University of Tennessee in 1978.

Dr. Gaw feels fortunate to practice in the community in which he was raised and where he, with his wife Janice, raised their three terrific sons.

Dr. Gaw is married to Janice Breshears Gaw. They met at David Lipscomb College and were married while he was in his first year of dental school. They have been married for 36 years and work together at the office.

Dr. Gaw enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is an elder at the Zion Church of Christ where he loves to serve as part of the congregation. Each year he spends a week at Bible camp with the youth of Jackson and Smith Counties.

Dr. Gaw attends many continuing education courses each year to keep up with the ever changing dental profession.

Dr.Gaw is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Tennessee Dental Association (TDA) 6th District Dental Society.


Dr. Joel Gaw, D.D.S

Dr. Joel Gaw began practicing general dentistry in Gainesboro, TN in August 2012 with his father, Dr. Ted Gaw. He highly values his father’s commitment to providing high quality dentistry as affordably as possible, and will work daily to ensure this continues in his practice.

Dr. Joel is looking forward to assisting all who would like to improve their oral health, restore their mouth to proper form and function, and enjoy a more beautiful smile.

Dr. Joel grew up and attended school in Jackson County, Tennessee.  He graduated from Jackson County High School in 2003 and continued his education at Tennessee Tech University where he earned his B.S. degree in Biology in 2007.  He then attended the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN where he graduated on May 25, 2012.

Dr. Joel enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing sports of all kinds, and worshipping God and being with his church family.  He loves being outdoors and spending time running, hiking, hunting, and camping.
